Before I head down for the triple venti non-fat latte, I thought I'd post a quick update. We were headed to see Coop in the NICU when we ran into Dr. Stone, Savannah's and Cooper's pediatrician. He had just left the NICU. He said that the distention in Cooper's abdomen had not been alleviated naturally overnight as they would have hoped. THis still leaves open the possibility of a blockage. Right now, they really aren't sure why there is so much air in there. On the upside, his respiration and heart rate have been steadily improving, which is an indication that his body is not struggling with anything major.
The neonatologists will check him later this morning to devise a plan for diagnosing his mystery condition and a strategy for correcting it. I suppose there is still an outside possibility of surgery to correct a blockage, but we are long way from that at the moment.
On the lighter side of things, I'm hoping to get some new photos up later, but the camera and the iBook aren't playing well together. I've separated them for the moment and sent them to their respective corners.
